Born as a roadside bar in 1954, Las Dalias became a reference for entertainment and a meeting point for locals and tourists by the late 60s in Ibiza. In 1985, the art gallery owner Helga Watson and the founder’s son decided to adapt the garden, to open a five-stall flea market featuring hand-made products by young European and North American craft workers. This was the birth of today’s flea market concept.
The market nowadays counts on more than 200 stores with many original handmade products, more than 30 years of success, and more than 350 families involved. Las Dalias has always worked with very special emphasis on the promotion of Ibiza’s traditional culture, but the market also embraces the new technologies and ecommerce with a beautiful on-line shop. At lasdalias.es, now you can get fashion, crafts and Cool-Foutas, the best artisanal hammam Fouta towels, from Las Dalias Market in Ibiza to your home.
We are so happy to introduce you the amazing art of photographer Adrien Crasnault. Working with Adrien was good like a smooth summer breeze in May. We have learnt a lot from his professional view and his very good practices.

He values the spontaneity and true emotions of his subjects. Originating from France, joining the UK in 1999 Adrien has focused his attention on adapting his self taught photographic skills to this ever so innovative creative industry.
The location for the photoshoot was Cala Salada, a beautiful beach on the west coast of Ibiza and very close to Cool-Fouta headquarters. Many thanks to the whole team involve helping us that magic afternoon. This is our picture selection of the photoshoot for the blog…
One of the main frequent questions are “…how to wash Foutas”, “…should I wash it by hand?” or “…is this machine washable?” At our online store www.foutadeibiza.es we explain you in detail how to do it properly, but in this post we are giving you some helpful information on how to wash Foutas with naturals products. You will love it!
Our Foutas are handmade hammam towels, made of 100% cotton, no need to wash them by hand. They can be washed in the washing machine and with every wash they become softer. The recommended temperature is 30º degrees in the regular cotton program so your Fouta will last longer. In case you need it, you can try one washing or two at 40º, but better always returning to 30º after that. Line dry your Fouta where air currents flow and remember not to use the tumble dryer.
Over time your Fouta fibers can accumulate some lime deposits from the washing water also dirt encrusted very hard to remove. Also in case that you forget your Fouta still wet inside of a beach bag for a long period of time, odors result of fungi and bacteria can apear. The homemade solution that we have found widely mentioned in many blogs and websites, are two “easy to find” natural products at home, baking soda and apple cider vinegar.
After studying and evaluating different home remedies, such as scented ammonia, lemon, salt, we decided to try baking soda and apple cider vinegar. By using a cup white vinegar into the drawer of the washing machine no longer need to add fabric softener, vinegar itself softens further and also eliminates bacteria and moisture from the fibers, a great discovery for us, definitely grandmothers around the world know a lot of useful stuff. On the other side, baking soda surprises us while using it as a cleaning agent. Incorporating only half a cup of baking soda in the wash drum, it neutralizes odors, disinfects and removes grease and stubborn dirt.
We have done several washes to check it, and after that, to Cool-Fouta’s team opinion, we are very pleased with the results and have not been washed Foutas in any different way since then. Would you try this little trick too? If you want your Foutas get softer, more durable, fully sanitized and odors free, please do not use fabric softener, add apple cider vinegar and baking soda instead to your regular washing, your Foutas and your washing machine will thank you.
